Second lunar eclipse of the year begins
The second lunar eclipse of the year has begun, Qalanews reports citing the Department of Astrophysics of Baku State University.

The penumbral lunar eclipse started at 12:02. There will be a partial eclipse at 13:09, while a total eclipse will be observed at 14:16. The maximum duration of the lunar eclipse will be at 14:59. The total eclipse will end at 3:41 PM, and the partial eclipse will end at 5:56 PM.

The second total lunar eclipse of 2022 will be visible from Asia, Australia, North America, parts of Northern and Eastern Europe, and most of South America.

As the Moon is below the horizon during the eclipse, the main phase of the eclipse will not be visible in Baku. It will be possible to watch the penumbral eclipse on the eastern side of the horizon only during the last 25 minutes (17:31-17:56). A penumbral lunar eclipse is difficult to be observed since the shadow part is slightly fainter than the rest of the Moon.
